Is there some instructions to setup the public keys to connect to a linux host from a Windows 2008 server. Red hat 6.3? I can connect to server via tecta client, but only with Password. Need public authentication.

If you are using current version of client on Windows server, it should be very easy:

  • open the GUI configuration window
  • go to "User Authentication" / "Keys and Certificates"
  • Click "New key", follow the wizard to the end: you will be asked if you want to upload the public key to some server. Do it.

You can upload exiting key by selecting it and clicking "upload".

The command line tool ssh-broker-ctl also has similar functionality.

Also this site already had multiple questions of similar kind answerd.

Was this helpful?

With regards, Martin
