The 6.4.5 releases contain the following new features:

  • Tectia Client and Server: support for Windows 8
  • Tectia Server for IBM z/OS: support for z/OS 2.1
  • Tectia Server: The possibility to use external data to match local tunnel constraints
  • Tectia Server on Windows: one-way trust support

All released products also include bug fixes and minor features.

The following includes a summary of the release notes for each product.

Tectia Client

New Features:

  • All Platforms: When the standard output of sftpg3/scpg3 is redirected to a file, it will now contain the file transfer progress percentage.

  • Windows: Added support for Windows 8 for Tectia Client and Server.

Bug Fixes:

  • All Platforms: Defining "summary-format" to print the file transfer progress percentage no longer fails when connected to an OpenSSH server.

Tectia ConnectSecure

New Features:

  • All Platforms: When the standard output of sftpg3/scpg3 is redirected to a file, it will now contain the file transfer progress percentage.

  • Windows: Added support for Windows 8 for Tectia Client and Server.

Bug Fixes:

  • Unix: Transparent FTP tunneling of a native FTP client in passive mode using IPv4 no longer fails to work.

  • All Platforms: Defining "summary-format" to print the file transfer progress percentage no longer fails when connected to an OpenSSH server.

Tectia Server

New Features:

  • All Platforms: Added the Tectia Mapper Protocol to Tectia Server. This provides the tools for communication between Tectia Server and an external application to match local tunneling constraints with external data.

  • All Platforms: Added the possibility to define local tunneling constraints obtained via an external application that uses the Tectia Mapper protocol.

  • Windows: Tectia Server can now authenticate domain users when there is a one-way trust relationship between the domain of the host and the domain of the user.

  • Windows: Added a new option to ssh-server-ctl, "add-pwd-cache-user". This command adds the specified user and entered password to the server password cache database.

  • Windows: Added support for Windows 8 for Tectia Client and Server.

Bug Fixes:

  • All Platforms: If a version exchange failure occurs, Tectia Server now logs a disconnect message and sends a binary message to the client. This is a change of behavior to any previous releases.

Known issues:

  • Windows: The local tunneling constraints obtained via an external application cannot be configured using the Tectia Server Configuration GUI. The changes need to be made directly to the configuration file. Please note that any modifications to the configuration file made using the Tectia Server Configuration GUI will delete the changes related to the local tunneling constrains that were made manually to the configuration file.

Tectia Server for IBM z/OS

New Features:

  • When the standard output of sftpg3/scpg3 is redirected to a file, it will now contain the file transfer progress percentage.

Bug Fixes:

  • In SITE Filetype=JES, if the job_owner attribute is not specified, the default value will be the current user.

  • In SITE Filetype=JES, the command 'ls -l' for an individual job id no longer returns unsorted order when issued by clients.

  • With SITE Filetype=JES, the command 'get job-id' no longer fails to run.

  • Tectia clients and server will now create a correct output file when transferring text data from a MVS dataset to a POSIX file with \r\n line delimiters. Previously (since 6.3.6 release) several hundred bytes of data could be missing from the output file if the file was larger than about 32000 bytes. This type of transfer is specified by using a MVS dataset name and the attributes TRANSFER_FILE_LINE_DELIMITER=MVS and TRANSFER_LINE_DELIMITER=DOS for the source file.

  • In sftpg3, when setting the filetype to JES and giving the command 'cd', the behavior is now the same as for the command 'cd //'.

  • Defining "summary-format" to print the file transfer progress percentage no longer fails when connected to an OpenSSH server.

For further information about the products and changes between the different versions, and instructions on how to update the product, see the customer documentation and release notes at SSH product documentation web page.
