I have a some virtual folders defined for a user. When the user logs in he sees those folder as the root of the SFTP. When you go inside a folder then try to come out of it by double-clicking the parent folder (shown as dot-dot ..), then a error is received from the server:
For exmaple my root is /Installs
I double click on Install to go in the folder. It shows:
.. Dir1 Dir2 etc
I double click .. and the following error message is received:
Error Code: 3 Message: The data is invalid. , file: /Installs/.. Request Code: 3
I am using WinSCP as my SFTP client. Some other clients that dont have .. as the parent directory dont have this problem, such as FileZilla, CuteFTP, SSH SFTP Client.

You might have better luck asking WinSCP about that error message.
Without knowing which SSH Tectia Server version your using its possibly that the issues is fixed in a newer version of the server. There was some compatibility fixes done in 6.1.x versions with som e3rd party clients.
I have also seen virtual folders issues fixed by upgrading WinSCP versions as well, so I think there have likely be some fixes to virtual folder recognition their side as well.
