hi all,

i am using ssh secure shell client 3.2.9, 3.2.0 and 6.1 on my windows machine and i am trying to transfer some files from windows machine to routers flash. i am using the following command

scp2 check.txt admin@

when i enter this command from command line of windows machine get the following message.

error: could not open sft channel to host `'

this error message comes in case if i am using ssh 6.1. if i use version 3.2.9 then it just hangup and doesn't transfer the file.

if anyone has any idea about it please let me know.

Is the router ssh protocol 2 compatible? Some older routers use the older ssh1 protocol only, and our newer versions of Tectia don't allow this due to the security vulnerability of ssh1.

You can find out usually by running the following command.

telnet 22

Because its hard to know what the router is expecting with out knowing what type of ssh is installed on it, I would also try connecting using SFTP first (if allowed), and make sure that the destination file path is correct.

Meaning it could be expecting any of the following in the scp destination location...
